Lobkowicz Palace

Lobkowicz Palace, located within the Prague Castle complex, is the only privately owned building in this historic area. Built in the late 16th century, it houses the Lobkowicz Collections and Museum, showcasing masterpieces by renowned artists such as Velázquez and Brueghel, alongside historical artifacts and musical manuscripts. The palace has a rich history, including its role during the Second Defenestration of Prague and its use as a hospital during the Napoleonic Wars. After a tumultuous ownership history, it was restored and opened to the public in 2007, featuring a baroque Concert Hall that hosts classical music concerts. Visitors can explore its beautifully designed galleries and learn about the Lobkowicz family's significant contributions to Czech history and culture.
