Charles Wintzer Building

The Charles Wintzer Building, located in downtown Wapakoneta, Ohio, is a historic brick commercial structure built in 1872. Originally serving as a tannery, it reflects a blend of German and Italianate architectural styles. The building has been a significant site for the G.A. Wintzer & Son company, which has operated continuously for over six generations, making it the oldest locally owned business in Auglaize County. Recognized for its well-preserved architecture, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, highlighting its importance in the local industrial history and its unique combination of residential and industrial use.
