Noxon House

Noxon House is a historic Georgian residence located in Poughquag, Dutchess County, New York, built in 1770 by Benjamin Noxon. This well-preserved structure features a brick exterior, a hipped roof, and a symmetrical layout typical of Georgian architecture. Inside, visitors can explore original wide plank floors, eight fireplaces, and a historic kitchen that retains a beehive bread oven and large fireplace. The house is noted in early nineteenth-century travel accounts and represents a significant piece of local history, alongside nearby landmarks like the old Poughquag Tavern, which served as a popular stop for travelers.
