Islay Woollen Mill

Islay Woollen Mill, located near Bridgend in Islay, Scotland, is a historic Category A listed building established in 1883. This well-preserved mill features a waterwheel and vintage machinery, including 1920s Dobcross looms. Since 1981, it has been operated by Gordon and Sheila Covell, producing tweed that has appeared in notable films such as Far and Away, Braveheart, Rob Roy, and Forrest Gump. The mill was also visited by Prince Charles in 1994, adding to its cultural significance.
