Eagle House, Mitcham

Eagle House is a historic Grade I listed Queen Anne house located in Mitcham, London, built in 1705 in the Dutch style. Originally commissioned by the Marrano doctor Fernando Mendes, it has a rich history, serving as a private boarding school and later as an infirmary for the Holborn Union Industrial Schools. In 1933, it was acquired by Surrey County Council to care for intellectually disabled girls, and since 2005, it has been transformed into a school for children and young people with autism. Its unique architecture and historical significance make it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
