Rocky Statue and the 'Rocky Steps' prank

The bronze Rocky Statue, created by A. Thomas Schomberg for the film Rocky III, was cast in 1980 and was displayed at the Spectrum before being moved to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 2006. The Museum’s 72 steps are popularly known as the 'Rocky Steps' after the film sequence, and tourists commonly run the steps and pose with the statue. Locals frequently make light-hearted jokes about tourists reenacting the scene and striking the same pose at the top of the steps. The steps and statue are a documented tourist ritual tied to the museum grounds.
