Franklin Court archaeological investigations

Archaeological investigations at Franklin Court located foundation remains, wells, and artifact assemblages from the lot where Benjamin Franklin's house and printing shop stood in the 18th century. Excavated materials included building foundations, household ceramics, printing-related debris, and urban refuse deposits that informed the design of the Franklin Court plaza and interpretive exhibits. The Benjamin Franklin Museum interprets Franklin's life alongside the archaeological record recovered from the site.
