Victory Grill (Historic Black music venue)

The Victory Grill opened in 1945 on East 11th Street to serve African American patrons and touring Black entertainers during segregation. The club became part of the Chitlin’ Circuit and hosted numerous R&B and blues performances important to Austin’s musical history. Today it is recognized as a historic cultural venue tied to the Black community of East Austin.
