Round House (Los Angeles)

The Round House, later known as the Garden of Paradise, was a unique landmark in downtown Los Angeles, notable for its distinctive cylindrical adobe architecture inspired by African designs. Built in the mid-19th century, it served various purposes, including a pleasure resort and a school, and was famous for its lush gardens filled with exotic plants, sculptures, and a music band that entertained visitors. The site was a popular gathering place for locals, especially on Sundays, until it was sold and eventually demolished in 1889. Today, it represents a fascinating chapter in the architectural and social history of Los Angeles.
