Gerrish Warehouse

The Gerrish Warehouse, built around 1710 in Kittery Point, Maine, was a significant part of the Pepperrell family's shipping empire, notably managed by Sir William Pepperrell during the mid-18th century. This historic 2-1/2 story wooden structure served as a warehouse before being converted into a ship chandlery in the 19th century. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 but was ultimately demolished in 2015 after plans to relocate it proved infeasible. Visitors to the area can appreciate the rich maritime history associated with the Pepperrell family and the building's role in early American commerce.
