Brewster Apartments

The Brewster Apartments, originally known as Lincoln Park Palace, is a historic condominium building located in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago. Designed by architect Enock Hill Turnock and completed in 1896, this Romanesque Revival structure features a striking stone exterior of pink jasper and a full-height atrium with cast iron stairways and a massive skylight. Designated a Chicago Landmark in 1982, the building has a rich history, having housed notable residents such as Illinois Governor John Peter Altgeld and Charlie Chaplin during his brief stay in Chicago. Additionally, the Brewster Apartments has appeared in popular films like Running Scared and Child’s Play, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers alike.
