Northwestern Terra Cotta Company Building

The Northwestern Terra Cotta Company Building, located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, is a historic site constructed in 1905. It served as the office for one of the leading producers of terra cotta, a popular decorative material in early 20th-century architecture. This building is notable for its connection to the Chicago school of architecture, which extensively utilized terra cotta in iconic structures like the Rookery and Wrigley Buildings. Although the production plant closed in 1932 and much of it has been demolished, the office building remains a significant remnant of the era and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
