Mapparium at the Mary Baker Eddy Library

The Mapparium is a three-story stained-glass globe completed in 1935 and installed inside the Mary Baker Eddy Library. Visitors walk through the glass sphere and view a 1934 political-map depiction of the world; the interior is also noted for its unique acoustics that create a whispering-gallery effect. The Mapparium is operated as a permanent exhibit and is considered an architectural and cultural attraction in the Back Bay/Fenway area.
