Taj Mahal Bangladesh

Taj Mahal Bangladesh is an architectural replica of the famous Taj Mahal in Agra, India, created by Bangladeshi filmmaker Ahsanullah Moni as a tourism destination for low-income families. The 1.6 hectare complex took five years to build, from 2003 to 2008, at a cost of approximately $58 million, and was opened to the public in March 2009. Despite some controversy regarding copyright concerns from the Indian High Commission, the site offers a unique opportunity for visitors to experience a piece of Mughal architecture in Bangladesh.
