Paddington Town Hall, London

Paddington Town Hall was a notable municipal building located in Harrow Road, London, originally constructed in 1853 as a vestry hall for St Mary on Paddington Green Church. Designed in a neoclassical style by James Lockyer, it featured a striking symmetrical facade and served as the headquarters for the Paddington Metropolitan Borough Council from its formation in 1900 until the borough's dissolution in 1965. The building played various roles throughout its history, including housing a war memorial and serving as accommodation for female telephone operators during World War II. Despite its historical significance, it was demolished to make way for the Westway urban motorway, but a green plaque now marks the site, commemorating its legacy.
