Capt. Nathaniel Parker Red House

The Capt. Nathaniel Parker Red House, located at 77–83 Ash Street in Reading, Massachusetts, is a historic vernacular Georgian house built before 1755. Notable for its painted exterior and elegant southern entry, it served as a tavern on a key coach road and a meeting place for revolutionary figures like Marquis de Lafayette and Alexander Hamilton. The house remained in the Parker family until the late 19th century, and despite a decline in business due to changes in local infrastructure, it was recognized for its historical significance by being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
