Fox Theatre interior murals and ornament

The Fox Theatre opened in 1928 and was designed as a lavish movie palace whose interior features extensive decorative murals, plasterwork, and architectural ornament inspired by Moorish and Egyptian motifs. With an auditorium capacity of over 5,000, its ornate interior is one of the largest surviving examples of theatrical decorative public art in the United States. The lobby and public spaces are publicly accessible during performances and tours.
