Fontainebleau Las Vegas - long-stalled high-rise skeleton on the Strip

Construction of the Fontainebleau Las Vegas high-rise began in 2007 and was halted in 2009 during the Great Recession, leaving a partially built tower that stood visibly unfinished on the north Strip for several years. The halted project became a well-known example of post-2008 development stoppage on the Las Vegas Strip and changed ownership and plans multiple times thereafter. The site has been the subject of several redevelopment efforts since the suspension of initial construction.
