Manning Manse

The Manning Manse, located at 56 Chelmsford Road in North Billerica, Massachusetts, is a historic house built around 1696, making it one of the oldest surviving structures in the area. This significant example of early American architecture has ties to the prominent Manning family and was a tavern in the 18th century. The house features a unique saltbox profile and is set on 4 acres adjacent to Warren H. Manning State Forest. After a period of decay, it was restored in the 1890s by Warren H. Manning, who transformed it into a summer home. The property has since housed various restaurants and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, offering visitors a glimpse into colonial history and preservation efforts.
