Allerton 39th Street House

The Allerton 39th Street House, now known as Pod 39, is a historic hotel located at 145 East 39th Street in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood. Originally completed in 1918 as a men-only club hotel, it was designed by architect Arthur Loomis Harmon in the Northern Italian Renaissance style. The building features a striking red brick façade with terracotta decorations and includes a rooftop garden. After serving as a residence for women run by the Salvation Army from 1956 to 2007, it was transformed into a modern hotel in 2012.
