Frank Erwin Center - longtime UT arena closed in 2022

The Frank Erwin Center, which opened in 1977 as the University of Texas’s primary indoor arena and concert venue, hosted thousands of events including concerts, basketball games, and commencements over several decades. Following the opening of the Moody Center, the Frank Erwin Center ceased operations in 2022 and has been slated for demolition and site redevelopment. During its operational history the venue was one of Austin’s largest indoor event spaces and a frequent stop on national concert tours.
