Whiting Memorial Community House

The Whiting Memorial Community House, also known as the Whiting Community Center, is a historic community center located in Whiting, Indiana. Built in 1923, this eclectic two-story building features a striking design with a hipped red tile roof, gables, and detailed brickwork. It serves as a hub for community activities, offering an auditorium, meeting rooms, an indoor track, gyms, a bowling alley, and a swimming pool. Originally constructed by the Standard Oil Company, it was once home to the Whiting Ciesar All-Americans basketball team. The building was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers alike.
