USS Pampanito (World War II submarine museum)

USS Pampanito (SS-383) is a Balao-class U.S. Navy submarine commissioned in 1943 that served in the Pacific during World War II and is now preserved as a museum ship. The submarine is berthed at Pier 45 in Fisherman's Wharf and is part of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park's collection of historic vessels. Visitors can tour the submarine to see original crew spaces, torpedo rooms, and engineering compartments preserved as a firsthand exhibit of WWII submarine service.
