WAIS Divide Scientific Camp

This seasonal research camp supports scientific studies focused on the nearby Thwaites Glacier, often called the Doomsday Glacier. It serves as a base for joint efforts to monitor glacial and environmental conditions, including underwater measurements of salinity, temperature, and water flow beneath the ice. The camp features a skiway for aircraft access and is equipped with tall markers to locate buried equipment amid shifting ice.
