The Brill Building at 1619 Broadway became a center for American popular songwriting and music publishing in the 1950s and 1960s, housing numerous publishers, studios, and songwriting teams. Writers and teams associated with the building include Carole King and Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, and the Aldon Music organization, which produced many Top 40 hits of the era.
