Madam Walker Legacy Center

The Madam Walker Legacy Center occupies the Madam C.J. Walker Building, a 1927-era theater and office complex built for the Walker Manufacturing Company. The center preserves the legacy of entrepreneur and philanthropist Madam C.J. Walker and houses exhibits, community programming, and performance space focused on African American history and culture. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a cultural anchor on Indianapolis's historic Indiana Avenue corridor.
