Pringle House (New Zealand)

Pringle House is a ten-storey vacant building located at 142 Wakefield Street in Wellington, New Zealand. Built in the late 1980s, it has been unoccupied since being damaged in the 2013 Seddon earthquake. Originally purchased by the Greater Wellington Regional Council for $22 million, the building was found to have serious structural flaws, including non-ductile columns and inadequate foundations for earthquake resilience. After the 2013 earthquake, which caused significant damage, the council vacated the premises. In 2015, the building was sold to Eyal Aharoni, but reports of illegal occupancy and safety concerns have persisted. The building remains a point of interest for its architectural history and the ongoing challenges related to its condition and safety.
