The Paragon Theatre, Queenstown

The Paragon Theatre is a historic cinema and live entertainment venue located in Queenstown, Tasmania, Australia. Opened in 1933, this art deco theatre originally seated 1,150 patrons and was the first in Tasmania to install a Western Electric sound system. After a decline in patronage, it was repurposed for indoor cricket in 1985 but faced years of neglect. In 2003, it was renovated into a luxury cinema and function venue. Since its reopening in 2017, The Paragon has hosted events and screenings, becoming a key site for The Unconformity festival, a celebration of arts, music, and food.
