Skaugum

Skaugum is the official residence of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, located in Asker, just southwest of Oslo. This historic estate, originally church property, has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages and features 48 hectares of agricultural land and 50 hectares of woodlands. The current manor house, designed by architect Arnstein Arneberg, was built after the original structure burned down in 1930. Skaugum has served as a royal residence since 1929 and is privately owned by the royal family, making it inaccessible to the public. The estate has also been in the news due to recent controversies involving members of the royal family.
