Jefferson Hall (University of Virginia)

Jefferson Hall, also known as Hotel C, is a historic building located in the Academical Village at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Designed by Thomas Jefferson, it serves as the traditional home of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. The building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. Originally serving as a student dining facility, Jefferson Hall has been a significant meeting space for various student organizations since its inception. Notably, it was used as a hospital during the Civil War. Today, it hosts a variety of groups and features artwork, including portraits of notable figures such as James Madison and Edgar Allan Poe.
