Seaholm Power Plant redevelopment (Seaholm District)

The Seaholm Power Plant, a mid-20th-century municipal power plant, was decommissioned and redeveloped in the 2010s into the Seaholm District, a mixed-use complex that includes retail spaces, residences, and public plaza areas. The adaptive-reuse project preserved elements of the historic plant architecture while creating new pedestrian connections along Cesar Chavez Street and Lady Bird Lake. The redevelopment is cited in local planning documents as a key downtown urban-renewal project.
