Villa Hjelt

Villa Hjelt is a historic villa located in the Eira district of Helsinki, Finland, opposite Mikael Agricola Church. Completed in 1912 and designed by architect Gustaf Estlander, the villa has a rich history, initially commissioned by Dr. E. Roos. After Roos's death, businessman Allan Hjelt acquired the property and made significant alterations with the help of architect Eliel Saarinen. The villa was once considered as a potential residence for the King of Finland, a project that ultimately did not materialize. Since 1925, it has served as the residence of the Italian ambassador to Finland, making it a notable landmark for visitors interested in Finnish history and architecture.
