Old North Church (Christ Church)

Built in 1723, Christ Church-commonly called Old North Church-is the oldest surviving church building in Boston. Historical accounts report that on the night of April 18, 1775, two lanterns were hung in its steeple to signal the route British troops would take, an event associated with Paul Revere's ride. The church retains original box pews and 18th-century woodwork and remains an active parish and museum on the Freedom Trail.
