Riley's Tavern

Riley's Tavern, located in Hunter, Texas, near New Braunfels, is a historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2018. Originally built in the 1800s, it gained prominence when James Curtis Riley transformed it into a tavern in 1933. Notably, it became the first tavern in Texas to receive a license after the end of Prohibition, capitalizing on its strategic location near a railroad stop and the border of a dry county.
