Centre for Music, London

The Centre for Music was a proposed concert hall in the City of London, intended to feature a 2000-seat auditorium and various performance spaces. It aimed to be the new home for the London Symphony Orchestra and was backed by significant figures in the music community. Despite initial enthusiasm and funding commitments, the project faced challenges, including the withdrawal of central government support and concerns over its elitism. Ultimately, in February 2021, the City of London announced that the project would not move forward, leaving behind a vision of what could have been a landmark cultural venue in the heart of London.
