Arnot House

The Arnot House, located at 306 W. Houston Street in Marshall, Texas, is a historic one-story structure built in 1848, making it one of the oldest houses in the area. This early Greek Revival style building features a unique blend of classic Creole architecture, characterized by its wood frame and brick basement. The house is notable for its stout square columns on the front porch, reflecting the early phase of Greek Revival design. Named after early settlers Lucinda and Albert M. Arnot, the house has changed hands multiple times throughout its history. It was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1962 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in Texas history.
