Pitcairn Building

The Pitcairn Building, also known as the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company Building, is a historic warehouse and light manufacturing loft located in Philadelphia's Chinatown neighborhood. Designed by the prominent architects G. W. & W. D. Hewitt and completed in 1901, this eight-story structure features a striking combination of brick, granite, and terra cotta details. Originally serving as a distribution center for the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, it later became home to the clothing manufacturer H. Daroff and Sons, known for the 'Botany 500' brand. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in Philadelphia's architectural and industrial history.
