Exploratorium (Pier 15)

The Exploratorium was founded by physicist Frank Oppenheimer in 1969 as an experimental laboratory for science education. It pioneered hands-on, interactive exhibits that demonstrate scientific and technological principles. The museum relocated to Pier 15 on San Francisco's Embarcadero in 2013, occupying a rehabilitated historic pier. The institution influenced informal STEM education and inspired similar science centers worldwide.
