Wilkins Farm

Wilkins Farm is a historic farmstead located in Shenandoah County, Virginia, recognized for its significance in exploration and settlement, as well as its architectural heritage. Established in the late 18th century, it features a frontier log structure dating back to around 1776, which evolved into a two-story log home by 1789. The farm was the boyhood home of renowned fraktur artist Emanuel Wilkins and showcases the craftsmanship of German builders using local materials. The property remained in the Wilkins family for nearly two centuries before being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
