Palace of Altamira (Madrid)

The Palace of Altamira, located in the heart of Madrid, is a historic site that showcases the architectural vision of Ventura Rodríguez from 1772. Declared a national monument in 1977, this grand palace was originally designed for the Counts of Altamira and features a rich history, including a famous owner, Vicente Osorio de Moscoso y Ponce de León, who amassed a significant art collection. Although the original ambitious design was curtailed, the palace remains a notable landmark, having undergone various renovations and now housing the Istituto Europeo di Design since 2005.
