Big Tex at Fair Park

Big Tex is a 55-foot-tall cowboy figure that has been the longtime mascot and symbol of the State Fair of Texas, which takes place annually at Fair Park. The original statue debuted in 1952; a metal frame candidate was destroyed by fire in 2012 and a replacement with a similar appearance was unveiled for the 2013 fair. The figure and the State Fair of Texas are major annual events and traditions for Dallas-area residents.
