BBC Drama Village

The BBC Drama Village was a notable television production facility located in Birmingham, England, primarily operated by BBC Birmingham. Nestled within the Selly Oak campus of the University of Birmingham, the site featured five buildings, including the architecturally significant Archibald House and Melville House, both Grade II listed. The facility was equipped with studios, sets, wardrobe and technical departments, and extensive post-production suites. It was the birthplace of several popular television programs, such as 'Doctors,' 'Father Brown,' and 'Dalziel and Pascoe.' However, the site closed in 2023 following the cancellation of 'Doctors,' with operations moving to a new location in Digbeth.
