Elisabet Ney Museum (Formosa)

The Elisabet Ney Museum is housed in 'Formosa', the Romanesque studio and home built by sculptor Elisabet Ney in 1892 and preserved as a house museum. The museum’s collections include Ney’s marble and plaster sculptures, original tools, and plaster casts of notable 19th-century figures. Operated by the City of Austin, the site interprets Ney’s career as a Neoclassical sculptor and her contributions to Texas cultural history. The studio’s distinctive architecture and intact artist workspace are central features of the museum.
