Belmont–Paul Women's Equality National Monument (Sewall–Belmont House)
By Seeker
The Belmont–Paul Women's Equality National Monument, housed in the former Sewall–Belmont House, preserves archives and objects related to the U.S. women's suffrage and equal-rights movements and served as the longtime headquarters of the National Woman's Party. The two-story brick house contains period rooms, organizational records, and exhibits documenting suffrage-era lobbying and later equal-rights campaigns. As a specialized house museum focused on women's political history and located on Capitol Hill, it receives fewer visitors than the city's larger national museums.
