Lenox Lounge

Opened in 1939 at 288 Lenox Avenue, the Lenox Lounge was a famed Harlem jazz club known for its Art Deco interior and for hosting generations of jazz performers. Musicians associated with the club's history include Billie Holiday and Miles Davis, and the venue figured prominently in Harlem's mid‑20th‑century music scene. Though its operations have changed over time, the Lenox Lounge remains an oft-cited landmark in accounts of New York jazz history.
