Mission Espada still an active parish

Mission San Francisco de la Espada continues to function as an active Roman Catholic parish within the Archdiocese of San Antonio, holding regular Masses and parish events in the historic chapel. The chapel building dates to the 18th century and remains in liturgical use while being interpreted as part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. The site includes the adjacent Espada acequia and other historic features.
