Blackburn Exchange Assembly Rooms

The Blackburn Exchange Assembly Rooms, built in 1860 by the Catholic Brethren, served as a vibrant community hub for auctions, classes, and entertainment before becoming part of the Blackburn Exchange estate. Initially a Catholic Hall, it was later sold to the Blackburn Exchange Company and transformed into a venue for larger events, including the Venetian Fair. Despite its historical significance, the Assembly Rooms were demolished in 1935 to make way for a new building, marking the end of an era for this central location in Blackburn's cotton industry.
