Southwestern Life Insurance Building

The Southwestern Life Insurance Building was a notable 16-story high-rise in Downtown Dallas, Texas, built in 1912 and designed in the Sullivanesque style. It served as the headquarters for the Southwestern Life Insurance Company until 1964 and housed various shops at street level. The building was demolished in 1972, making way for a parking lot, which was later transformed into Pegasus Plaza, a park that revitalized the area. This site reflects the historical evolution of Dallas's central business district and its shift towards modern urban planning.
