White Rock Lake dam and reservoir

White Rock Lake was created by constructing a dam on White Rock Creek and was completed in 1911 to serve as a municipal water reservoir for Dallas. The original dam, spillway, and related early-20th-century waterworks remain visible at the site and are part of the lake's historic infrastructure. The reservoir later transitioned from municipal water supply use to recreational and ecological functions while retaining its original engineered features.
