Second Supreme Court of Canada building

The Second Supreme Court of Canada building, located west of Parliament Hill in Ottawa, served as the Supreme Court's home from 1882 until 1945. Originally constructed in 1874 as workshops, it was renovated for judicial use and expanded in 1890. Despite its historical significance, the building faced criticism for its inadequate facilities. After the Court relocated in 1949, the building was demolished in 1955, making it the only structure on Parliament Hill to be torn down. Today, the site is a parking lot and vehicle screening area, but it remains a point of interest for those exploring Canada's judicial history.
